Archibald Anderson


Archibald Anderson (b. 1857 in Cumbernauld) first appears in the Glasgow Post Office Directory in 1885, living in St George's Road, NW of the city centre. From 1887, he described himself as a measurer (quantity surveyor), and by 1888 had opened offices in Bath Street, close to many colleagues and many architects' offices. By 1914, he is listed as a Fellow of the Faculty of Surveyors, at that date the principal professional association in Scotland. He appears in the Directory for the final time in 1926–7 . 1
