Honeyman, Keppie & Mackintosh redesigned the city-centre shop of general warehousemen Walker, Allan & Co. The two round-headed doors between three round-headed windows were replaced with a plate-glass window and central recessed door. Steel beams and iron columns were inserted to support the facade above the broad newopening. The entrance to the flats above, to the N., was changed from round to square-head. The building was owned by William Greig. 1
Authorship: This is one of over 270 jobs carried out in the office of John Honeyman & Keppie (Honeyman, Keppie & Mackintosh from 1901) during Mackintosh's time there. Mackintosh undoubtedly worked on many of these, but there is no specific evidence for his involvement in this case.
